Gallery Jung was opened in Gwanghwamun in 2001 as a part of the complex cultural space ‘Jung Won (meaning Garden)’, which consisted of Gallery ‘Jung’ for the exhibition and the theater ‘Won’ for the performance. With the renovation of the Gwanghwamun branch in 2019 and the expansion of the Sinsa branch in 2009, Gallery Jung has been working with senior and junior artists through numerous exhibitions as active member of contemporary art scene. Especially, Gallery Jung has been introducing Korean artists who incorporate traditional techniques into their practice to overseas markets. Gallery Jung has participated in prestigious international art fairs, such as the Zurich International Art fair, Geneva Art Fair, Basel Scope, New York, Montreal, South Hampton, Singapore Art Fair, Art Stage in Singapore and Miami Context, and etc. Gallery Jung, as a cultural space will continue to develop and expand, and act as an important cultural agent not only in Korea but also in the overseas art market with the unique management and the efforts of all staffs.

갤러리 정은 2001년 서울의 문화중심지인 광화문에 문화공간 정원으로 개관하였다. 복합문화공간 정원은 전시공간인 <갤러리 정>과 공연을 위한 <극단 원>으로 이루어져 전시와 공연의 만남을 시도한 이래 다수의 초대전과 기획전을 열어왔다. 2009년 신사 점을 확장하면서 2019년 광화문 점을 새단장하고, 중견작가들을 비롯하여 청년작가들과 함께 미술문화 발전에 더욱 힘써오고 있다. 특히 한국의 전통적인 기법을 활용하여 현대미술과의 접목을 시도하는 작가들을 국내뿐만 아니라 해외시장에 소개하고 있다. 갤러리 정은 매년 권위 있는 국제 아트페어에 참여하여 한국의 예술을 해외에 진출시켜 왔다. 2002년부터 취리히 국제 아트페어에 한국 화랑으로는 처음 진출한 이래 제네바 아트페어, 바젤 스콥, 뉴욕, 몬트리올, 사우스 햄튼, 싱가폴 아트페어, 아트 스테이지 싱가폴, 마이애미 컨텍스트 등에 참여하였다. 현재까지 걸어온 길보다 앞으로 더 다양하게 발전할 문화공간으로서의 갤러리 정은 차별화된 경영방식과 전 스텝들의 노력으로 국내뿐만 아니라 해외미술시장에서의 더 큰 발전을 기대한다.
